Operating Your Bed

Vertical Murphy Bed Operation

All of our vertical beds operate the same. The entire face of the Murphy bed comes down by grabbing and pulling the handles. In most cases, the bed can be easily opened using one hand. The beds are attached to your wall (at the top), which keeps them from moving forward, backwards, or side to side. When appropriately attached to the wall, your murphy bed is as solid as the rest of your wall. We DO NOT manufacture our beds with bi-fold doors that open and block the sides of the bed. The doors and/or drawer fronts on the face are merely for decoration and do not open or close. Check out the video to see how easy it is to operate our beds!

Cabinet Murphy Bed

Step 1. Pull out the drawer from the center, until it fully extends. This supports the fold out front panel. Step 2. Open the flip top and unlatch the slide bolts on either side and the security chain. Then open the fold out panel onto the drawer/base. Step 3. Open flap, pull out the mattress.

YouLift DIY murphy bed

To raise and lower the YouLift Murphy bed, two people are required. Start by unlocking the two locks on either side of the bed face. With the help of another person, pull down the bed by pivoting it on the bottom rockers. Once the bed face is on the floor, push it back towards the wall until the rockers fit into the slots on the stringer. To lift the bed, simply reverse these steps.
